Solution

This application helps calculate the render time of a quicktime MOV file (Verify MOV Files using this application before using it in the scene.) To Calculate the render time of the scene using a QuickTime MOV file, Calculate the total of The Render Time of the Scene and the Decompress time.

*Note -
1. The Decompress time has to be divided by 2 to calculate the actual render time for the Interlaced  Scene.
2. The Decompress time should not be more than 18 milliseconds

 A brief on the terms in the application:

  • Browse - will open a window to browse your desired MOV file.
  • Play - Starts the Calculation process.
  • Stop - Stops the Calculation process
  • Seek Time - This is the time to extract each frame from the MOV file in milliseconds
  • Decompress Time - This is the time to De-Code each frame of the MOV file in milliseconds.
  • Total Frames - Total Duration of the MOV file in Frames.
  • Current Frame -  The total number of frames which have been processed.

Follow these steps to check your MOV File.

  1. Browse the MOV File to check.
  2. Click the Play Button
  3. Check for the Decompress time.
  4. Click the stop button to stop the process.
